Korean Beef Recipe

Recently I was looking for something quick and simple to make my hubby and I for dinner and came across this Korean Beef recipe. It was absolutley delicious and I would recommend this dish as a go to for a quick meal for the kids as well.


1 Tbsp Sesame Oil

1 pound of ground beef

3 cloves of garlic

1/4 cup of Brown sugar

1/4 cup of Soy Sauce (can use low sodium if you want)

1/2 teaspoon fresh minced ginger

1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

Salt and Pepper to taste

1/2 cup sliced green onions


  1. Brown ground beef in the sesame oil and add garlic toward the end of browning. Drain the fat.
  2. Add brown sugar, soy sauce, ginger, salt, pepper. Simmer for a few minutes to blend the flavors. Serve over steam rice and top with green onions.

I adjusted the recipe by omitting the sesame oil and red pepper flakes. I also substituted minced garlic for the fresh garlic and I used ginger powder. I added garlic and onion powder and a little cumin. To top it off, I placed an egg over easy on top; for me this made the dish. If your looking for a vegetable, I think this dish would pair well with steam broccoli either incorporated in the dish or on the side as well as red bell peppers.
